What is Discover Scuba Diving?
Want to find out what scuba diving is like before committing to a certification?
During a Discover Scuba® Diving experience, you’ll try basic scuba skills in a pool or calm water environment. All equipment is included, and our highly trained PADI Professionals will guide you every step of the way.
How It Works
Step 1: PADI eLearning
Prepare for your session online in under 30 minutes. You’ll learn safety fundamentals using your phone or computer before you arrive.

Step 2: Pool Session with Instructor
At our Blur Water Park facility, you’ll meet your PADI Certified Dive instructor, learn how the gear works, and get in the water for your first underwater experience.

Discover Scuba Diving FAQ's
What is Discover Scuba Dive?
Our Discover Scuba Diving experience is a one-day, beginner-friendly introduction to scuba - perfect for anyone aged 10 and up who’s curious about the underwater world. It’s not a full certification, but it’s a safe and exciting way to find out if scuba’s right for you. You'll learn the basics of scuba safety, get comfortable using the equipment, and take your first underwater breaths in our shallow pool. If you're ready for more, we also offer the option of a guided open water dive.
How long does the course last?
The Discover Scuba Diving experience typically takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours in total. You’ll start with a short online eLearning module that takes about 20 to 30 minutes to complete, covering key safety fundamentals. After that, you’ll meet with a PADI Instructor who will guide you through your first diving experience in a pool or calm water environment. This in-person session usually lasts 2 to 3 hours and includes gear fitting, basic skills practice, and time to explore or enjoy a guided open water dive.
How much does it cost?
The Discover Scuba Diving experience costs $195. If you decide to continue and enrol in the full Open Water Diver certification afterwards, we’ll credit you $100 towards that course.
How deep will we go?
You’ll never go deeper than you’re comfortable with. Most pool sessions stay within 6 metres (20 feet), and if you choose to add an open water dive, that may go up to 12 metres (40 feet). But you’re always in control - this is about building confidence, not pushing limits.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. All sessions are run by fully certified PADI professionals who’ve completed extensive training. We take safety seriously and work closely with you to make sure you feel prepared and supported at every step.
